What is it:
IOLS is designed for Boy Scout Leaders focusing on the outdoor skills needed for the Tenderfoot through First Class ranks.
Who should attend:
This is the required outdoor portion of Leader Specific Training. It is required for all Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Crew Advisors. It is also open to Scouts age 17 who will become Assistant Scoutmasters at age 18.
When and Where:
Participants must be present for two separate sessions:
1) Mandatory Patrol Meeting 7:00PM-9:00PM on Tuesday, March 18 at the Firestone Scouting Resource Center, 1485 Valley Forge Road, Wayne PA 19087. Participants will be instructed on course expectations and equipment they are expected to bring, and patrols will organize meal and equipment plans.
2) Weekend camping at the Nelson Training Center, Camp Delmont, Musser Scout Reservation. Participants can begin setting up their campsites at 5:30PM on Friday March 28 and the program will begin at 7:00 PM sharp. We expect to end around 2:00PM on Sunday March 30.
The $25 fee will cover the cost of the facility plus administrative expenses, materials and Saturday lunch. Your patrol will determine the cost for all other meals, which will be collected within the patrol.
The registration period ends on March 17, 2014. Register below. Walk-in registrations will NOT be accepted.
Although the OWL (Outdoor Webelos Leadership) training is being held on the same dates and location, these are distinct events and participants may receive credit for only one.
